The simplest of recipes
Homemade applesauce is one of those things where once you make it the first time, you’ll never want to go back to the store bought version. It can be served cold as a side with dinner or warmed and eaten as part of a dessert or even by itself as a breakfast.
Perhaps the most surprising thing about homemade applesauce is the appearance as it looks absolutely nothing like what you find in the grocery store. The main reason is that this version leaves the apple peals on to give it a darker color.
An apple with the peel left on it has 332% more vitamin K, 142% more vitamin A, 115% more vitamin C, 20% more calcium and nearly 20% more potassium than a peeled apple.
I love sharing this recipe with people because once you make it, you realize how watered down and bastardized food in the grocery store is. This recipe is more nutritious and taste better than what you’ll find in the grocery store and on top of that it’s incredibly easy to make and inexpensive.

Recipe
6 Organic red apples
Cinnamon or cinnamon essential oil (Dash to taste)
Lemon juice (1 tsp.) or lemon essential oil (1-2 drops)
Instructions
Cut apple slices to remove cores and seeds, place them into food processor (not a blender) and pulse to desired texture. Add lemon and cinnamon after and stir with a spoon to mix.
